ARMY OF THE DEAD Teaser Trailer Shows Las Vegas Like Never Before In Zack Snyder's Return To The Zombie Genre

The first teaser trailer for Army of the Dead has been released, and Zack Snyder's return to the zombie genre (he previously helmed Dawn of the Dead) looks like it's going to be one hell of a good time...

It was recently confirmed that Army of the Dead will arrive on Netflix on May 21st, and we now have the first teaser trailer! It's brief, and only gives us a vague idea of what to expect, but this movie is clearly going to show us a Las Vegas like never before after the city is overrun by the undead.

It looks like director Zack Snyder (who penned the screenplay with Shay Hatten and Joby Harold) is having a lot of fun here, as we see a zombie Elvis impersonator, as well as a casino being overrun.

We'll likely see a lot more from this one as we near that May release, but this teaser does a great job of teasing what's to come, and it's great to see Snyder getting back to his horror roots (the first feature he stepped behind the camera to direct was the Dawn of the Dead remake - a must-watch if you haven't seen it).

Army of the Dead takes place following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, where a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. The cast includes Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Raúl Castillo, Michael Cassidy, and Garret Dillahunt.

Director of man of Steel and Dawn of the dead. No mention of BvS or JL. Hmmm. I wonder why. Joking aside. Can't wait for this

After his "DC era" is finished, Snyder should focus on this type of movies. That's where he's better at.

@Urubrodi - Snyder is always a good choice for directing action movies and blockbuster movies. Maybe a new GI Joe movie.

@Repian - Good God no, he needs to stick to darker stuff. I think he'd be a good choice for Ronin or maybe one of Ed Brubaker's like Incognito.
