Director Mike Flanagan has announced that the first trailer for Doctor Sleep will be online at some point today, and he's shared the first official poster art for the Shining sequel to keep us going until then.

The big-screen adaptation of Stephen King's novel stars Ewan McGregor (Fargo, Star Wars, Trainspotting) as an older Danny Torrance, still struggling to keep "the shine" under control while attempting to put the horrific events of his childhood behind him. He'll face-off against Mission: Impossible's Rebecca Ferguson as the evil Rose the Hat, who is hunting a young girl with similar powers to Danny.

Doctor Sleep hits theaters on November 8, 2019. Take a look at the poster below, and be sure to check back later today for the first trailer.

Oculus was great, I'm excited for this even though I've heard mixed about the book. I wonder if we'll get a CGI Jack Nicholson cameo somewhere in this.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - There was a rumour that they asked Nicholson to be in it so they could de-age him but he said no. Not sure how true it is though

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Loved the book. Totally different vibe to The Shining but some of the horror elements were very much the same. Very creepy! Great casting, also.

They could even have Steven Weber reprise his role from the tv version. Which was actually pretty good and closer to the book
