As we know, there is a remake of Oldboy in the works with Spike Lee directing, but it will have along way to go if it hopes to come near the quality of the original Korean movie by Park Chan-wook - who also directed some equally brilliant films such as Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance, Thirst and JSA. Fans of his have been eagerly anticipating his first English language project, and now thanks to an Entertainment Tonight preview, we can have a look at the very first footage from this enigmatic Vampire tale..

“After India’s (Wasikowska’s) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.”

Never mind the snippets of footage - which don't make it look particularly great, the director is incapable of making a bad film, so I'm lookin forward to it.

There was this mother and daughter and an uncle and they acted like the daughter might have sex with the uncle or shoot the mother and a spider climb a leg two or three times.

@RorMachine

Every great director is incapable of making a bad film... until he makes one.
