The latest cinematic re-interpretation of the sci-fi/horror classic novel is headlined by former Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe as Igor and young Professor X (i.e. award-winner James McAvoy) as Victor Von Frankenstein, alongside Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey) as the object of Igor’s affection. Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis penned the script, with Paul McGuigan (Sherlock) set to direct.

Frankenstein will hit theaters on January 16, 2015.

Huh, that's odd. I hope they'll have to deform his look though.

He will be deformed but after meeting with Victor he will get his back fixed a bit and will wear a brace! No worries!

I think it's going to own on so many levels Daniel is a good actor and I'm really glad he's getting these movie roles!

Looks like it'll be decades better than that "I-Frankenstein" nonsense!

Igor did not exist in the original book -- in fact, Victor Frankenstein created the monster at a medical school, not in some remote castle. The Monster (who is not named Frankenstein) was very articulate and intelligent. So far, none of the various movie versions of Frankenstein have followed the book, although there was a TV movie that came somewhat close.

In the original movie, Victor Frankenstein's assistant is named "Fritz," not "Igor."

Daniel's still a very wooden and awkward actor, but Igor might be a good fit for him if the writing is good, and the direction is good, and the visuals are good....

I always thought Radcliffe would have a hard time finding a natural-looking role after the Potter films cuz he's just so damned creepy-looking without the glasses, but he just looks the part here.

@localman22 - The Kenneth Branaugh Frankenstein movie (starring himself), which I believe came out in the 90s is the closest to the book out of all the Frankenstein movies. Robert DeNiro played the monster and won awards for it, besides it being a shit movie.

No hump on Igor? Disappointing.

I know Igor wasn't in the original book written by Mary Shelley, but he's been in almost every single depiction, now it would be almost blasphemous to leave him out.

Look's good. I'm certain this will be better than that other Frankenstein movie.
