Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for what is being billed as the final instalment in the Insidious franchise (although a spin-off titled Thread: An Insidious Tale is on the way), as the Lambert family return to face their demons - and some all-new threats!
The footage features plenty of jumps (which have become a staple of the franchise), as Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye and a now college-aged Tye Simpkins reprise their respective roles as a family being tormented by malicious entities from a dark dimension known as The Further.
The movie will also see the return of the infamous villain that's come to be known as the "Lipstick-Face Demon."
Check out the new trailer and poster below.
"In order to put their demons to rest, Josh (Patrick Wilson) and a college-aged Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must go deeper into The Further than ever before, facing their family’s dark past and a host of new and more horrifying terrors that lurk behind the red door."
The Red Door will mark the directorial debut of star Patrick Wilson, who had the following to say back when the project was first announced.
“I’m honored and thrilled to be at the helm of the next Insidious installment, which will provide an amazing chance to unpack everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the consequences of their choices. Directing the movie is both professionally and personally a full circle moment for me, and I am extremely grateful to be entrusted in continuing to tell this frightening and haunting story. Into the further we go…”
Insidious: The Red Door is set to hit theaters on July 7.
