We still haven't seen a full trailer for the second season of AMC's adaptation of the late Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire, but an extended clip was screened during New York Comic-Con last night, and has now been shared online.

In the sneak peek, we see Louis and Claudia join Armand and his Théâtre des Vampires on a hunt. Santiago displays an impressive skill when he pokes his finger through a security guard's brain and finds out how many people await their grim fates as the coven prepares to feast on a wealthy family who made their fortune in black market trading.

As Claudia and the others feed, Louis and Armand flirt outside, and the latter mentions Lestat, who was seemingly laid to rest for good by Louis and Claudia in the season 1 finale. However, Louis prevented Claudia from burning his lover's body, thereby giving him the opportunity to regenerate.

After she stole every scene in the first season, fans were disappointed to learn that Bailey Bass would not be reprising the role of Claudia for season 2, with Delainey Hayles stepping in to take over as the ruthless child vampire.

"Delainey is extraordinary. She is a beautiful actress, and I think what she's brought to Claudia is exceptional," Lestat actor Sam Reid said of his new co-star during a recent interview with EW. "It's different and it's a change, but it's also, it's such a beloved character and I think Delainey really makes it her own. I can't wait for people to see her in this role."

Check out the clip in the player below, and let us know what you thought of the first season of Interview With the Vampire in the comments section.

“A sensuous, contemporary reinvention of Anne Rice’s revolutionary gothic novel, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire follows Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia’s (Bailey Bass) epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Chafing at the limitations of life as a Black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat de Lioncourt’s offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion. “But Louis’s intoxicating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat’s newest fledgling, the child vampire Claudia, soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.”

Season 2 of Interview with the Vampire is currently in production in Prague. After a brief hiatus back in July due to the ongoing actors strike, it has since resumed filming, but has been delayed until 2024.

@marvel72 - oh that movie was great. Brad Pitt, Tom cruise, and a young Kristen Dunst? Just excellent.

@Origame - there's also a sequel from 2003, it's not exactly a good film but fun if you enjoyed the first one.

@Blergh - eh, that's kinda the blade trinity of the series. Plus, it only has one of the characters and he was recast. So it's hard to even justify it as a sequel.

@Origame - Yeah I watched it years ago but I know it's a good little movie, might have to watch it again, what it being the month of Halloween.

More race related nonsense.

America just keeps setting themselves back further and further. 😆

@DarthAlgar - You do know that racial tensions and slavery were a key point of the books, right?
Especially given the time it was set in.

Not to mention: it's all a pretty gay story my man

Never seen the movie or read the books (but my husband is a huge fan) and we LOVED the first season. Being gay, I kinda knew it as "the gay vampire story" but I was surprised how much depth and trauma and drama they were able to mine from the "romance" and explore an abusive relationship in such an interesting way.

Psyched to see where Season 2 goes - and the acting here is just excellent. Love the poetic narration too. Adds to that mix of beauty and horror that the show goes for (presumably the novels do this too).

I had no desire to watch this after the trailers, but turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Excellent writing, strong cast with a few standouts. The changes to the book are actually only superficial and don't really alter the character relationships/dynamics etc.
