IT: CHAPTER 2 Director Andy Muschietti Says "Bring Your Adult Diapers" To The Scary Sequel
Even though It: Chapter 2 hasn't even started filming yet, the movie's director Andy Muschietti used the CinemaCon stage to start generating hype for next year's creepy clown movie. Read on past the jump.
The Stephen King adaptation It ended last year's summer movie season on a high note, and director Andy Muschietti is already ramping up the excitement for next year's sequel.
The movie has not yet started filming, so no footage was available to screen to fans at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. However, those in attendance did get a chance to see some clips from the first film and hear from the director. In a pre-recorded interview, Muschietti promised that It: Chapter 2 is going to be straight up nightmare fuel.
While the first movie was well received, there were some complaints that it was not scary enough. However, the source material leaves room for things to go in an even darker direction in the sequel. Chapter 2 will take place 27 years later, and will show us how the Losers' Club have transitioned into adulthood while dealing with serious trauma.
So far, the casting is pretty in line with the dreams of many fans. Jessica Chastain has already joined the cast as adult Beverly Marsh, and James McAvoy and Bill Hader are in talks to take on the roles of Bill Denbrough and Richie Tozier, respectively.
It: Chapter 2 is scheduled to float into theatres on September 6, 2019
