i thought it was a very good remake. the acting was laughable but thats not why you go to see this kind of movie. you go for the gore and the thrill. this movie definitely achieves that. that scene where levys character licks the knife F*CK that was the longest 5 seconds of my life. so gross!

Lots of cool gore & blood.

Evil Dead with Bruce were great but very different version, this one isnt as original obviously but still highly entertaining.

I remember people walking out of the theater disgusted from the gore, it was funny as F.
BTW: I always thought Jane Levy would make an excellent Mary Jane

Was disappointed the first viewing, grew on me the second viewing. Always give movies a second shot people. You see things from a totally different aspect.

Evil Dead remake is one of those "love it or hate it" movies, there is no middle ground...I loved it but my GF was completely turned off by it and found it very disturbing

I liked the subtle inside jokes and fanfare. I think the movie was a consistant tone throughout, and the end was thrown in to satisfy fans that wanted that Evil Dead 2 throwback. I found myself cheering in the theater. That latexy hand tearing under the jeep was a bit goofy, but when I saw Evil Ashley eat that chainsaw, I laughed so hard I crapped.

any of you that didnt like this movie is entitled to their opinion, butttt you guys can go suck it!

this is probably one of the best remakes ever made, it was similar in plot but a different story, wich is how it should be done. it paid homage to the original while still be fresh and original on its own. it wasnt a shot for shot remake it was its own thing that adds to the story of the original.

the acting wasnt amazing but it wasnt bad at all. its a horror movie, about a crazy demon coming out of a book, you cant have this amazing profound dialogue when theres people dying all around you by some demon, youre mostly gonna be shouting and screaming stuff like "WHAT THE F@#K?!?!?!" " SH@#@T!!!" " DEMON BITCH!!!"

suuuch an awesome movie, its thrilling, entertaining, more than enough blood, and jane levy is one of the cutest girls ive seen in a minute. sooo thats a plyus for me.

I watched it and loved it. I don't think it was meant to be scary, but instead creep you out and give you WTF moments.

Great flick. One thing that I thought was interesting is that they really were consistent in the way they depicted the behavior of the people once they were possessed. They had unique powers, but didn't always use them. They made that weird insect like sound grindy sound, they mutilated the bodies they were in, and they smiled a lot.

Those are all things I could envision age old malevolent entities doing.

This movie was solid. Not perfect but really damn good. Easily the best horror remake since they started remaking the classics and one of the best scare flicks to come out in a major motion picture form in a long time. They did the original justice with sticking with the spirit of the film and yet made something new and updated. This film has Sam's and Bruce's and Robert's seal of approval written all over it and that's worth a lot. I love the original, it's not a perfect film either, but this flick is creepy and delivers the gore in a way most horror films don't these days. I wish it was longer, I hate that most horror films are confined to 90 minutes, I'm not saying it needed more time added to the gore and horror but could have used a bit more story. But aside from from that, seeing as this a remake of a small low budget cult film made in the late 70's and with the state of horror films and with what all the other remakes have given us thus far. This flick is a complete success.
