Kyle MacLachlan Officially Returning For New TWIN PEAKS; See Him Back In The Suit

"How's Annie?" MacLachlan has been busy menacing the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. of late, but he's now been confirmed to return as Agent Dale Cooper to lead 9 brand new episodes of Twin Peaks. David Lynch has also posted a pic of the actor in his iconic black suit, coffee cup in hand!

Last year, Twin Peaks co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost announced that the iconic series would return in 2016 for a third season of nine episodes, directed by Lynch himself. Fans were left pretty disappointed with how the show ended almost 25 years ago, and although a prequel film (Fire Walk With Me) provided some additional weirdness for them to digest, none of us ever thought we'd be getting a direct continuation of that final, disturbing scene involving Agent Dale Cooper's bloody head and a mirror. Now it's been officially announced that Kyle MacLachlan has closed his deal to return as Cooper. Will he still be possessed by Bob? We'll find out in 2016, but for now here's a pic of MacLachlan and a press release.

Golden Globe winner and Emmy® Award nominee Kyle MacLachlan will reprise his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper when the critically-acclaimed, ground breaking television phenomenon TWIN PEAKS returns as a new limited series on SHOWTIME. Series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost are on board to write and produce all nine episodes of the limited series. Four-time Oscar® nominee David Lynch will direct every episode. TWIN PEAKS will go into production in 2015 to air on the network in 2016, marking the 25th anniversary of when the program last aired. Set in the present day, TWIN PEAKS will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers for the series’ passionate fan base. The announcement was made today by Showtime Networks President David Nevins and MacLachlan at the Television Critics Association’s annual Winter Press Tour. For viewers hoping to reminisce or for those discovering the series for the first time, SHOWTIME will re-air the first two seasons of TWIN PEAKS, in advance of the new episodes going on air in 2016. Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential broadcast series of all time, TWIN PEAKS followed the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town who were stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer is shockingly murdered. The town’s sheriff welcomed the help of FBI agent Dale Cooper, who came to town to investigate the case. As Cooper conducted his search for Laura’s killer, the town’s secrets were gradually exposed. The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues…

cool. I was always wondered what happened to his character at the end of s2 and who was that guy who came back and replaced Dale.

Anyway, Dale is probably trapped in Black Lodge now.

now, since Dale is back maybe whe can get another character to come back to tv.
I ain't talking no Twin Peaks here

@pepe - They have too. Maybe the plot involves the story that another agent searches for the real Coop after he discovers the truth.
