FEELING LUCKY TONIGHT? — When Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) receive a distressing video message from Kevin Tran (guest star Osric Chau), they set about trying to uncover the Third Trial. The boys make a discovery that sends them to a casino in Colorado, to find a mysterious recluse (guest star Curtis Armstrong) who may be able to fill in the holes in Kevin’s research. Meanwhile, Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) is on a winning streak. Castiel (Misha Collins) tries to elude Naomi (guest star Amanda Tapping) and the angels hunting him. Robert Duncan McNeill directed the episode written by Ben Edlund.

I really like this season, glad the show got renewed. When the show ends (hopefully in the very distant future) they need to do a movie every once and a while. I remember that that was discussed a few years ago but I haven't heard anything about it lately.

Hey, no love for Season 7? I thought it was pretty decent: slow momentum, and the majority of their cases were left open-ended, but I liked that change. Seeing the change in the Winchester boys manifest itself through their workload, that never-ending malaise and misery of never-ending malaise and misery. They got away from the Angel/Demon kick well enough and made the season a big send-off for Bobby as well.

My favourite seasons will always be 3,5, and 6, however.

Season 8, though I've been watching erratically, will definitely be a Netflix cruise for me. I'm going to bet that, like Season 7, Season 8 reads better when watched in bulk.
