"The Devil comes in many forms..."

Interview With The Vampire network AMC (via FearHQ) has released a full trailer for its other Anne Rice adaptation, The Mayfair Witches. The teaser features Alexandra Daddario (True Detective, Baywatch) as protagonist Rowan Mayfair, who discovers that she's thirteenth in a long line of women who have been cursed (some would say blessed) to be stalked/served by a demonic shape-shifter known as Lasher.

We only get a couple of brief glimpses of Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire, The Irishman) as the powerful entity, but it looks like he's going to be a suitably unsettling presence in the series.

AMC acquired the rights to pretty much the entire catalog of Rice's work, so if Interview and Mayfair prove to be a success, we can probably expect to see adaptations of the likes of Memnoch The Devil, Taltos, The Queen of the Damned, and more down the line.

Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments.

“The series will focus on an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.”

Esta Spalding (Masters of Sex, On Becoming a God in Central Florida) and Michelle Ashford (Masters of Sex, The Pacific, John Adams) are both executive producing and writing of the series, while Spalding is also on board as showrunner.

The Mayfair Witches will premiere on January 5, 2023 with a double-episode.
