Nicolas Cage stars as Nick Cage in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, a new action-comedy that sees the actor forced to accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal) when faced with financial ruin. However, things take an unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channelling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.
Earlier this month, we spoke to star Lily Sheen about her standout role as Nick Cage's daughter, Addy.
We'll bring you our full conversation tomorrow, but while talking to the actress about getting to see some action in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, we wondered if she'd be interested in following in Cage and Pascal's footsteps by joining the Marvel or Star Wars Universes down the line (the latter is The Mandalorian's lead, while Cage starred in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse).
"Of course!" she responds enthusiastically in the video above. "I have a really great respect for those movies. I think they're fantastic. I would love to be part of them. I watch them all. I have the Disney+ app, so I'm always at home watching it. It would be phenomenal. It would be once in a lifetime."
This movie is Sheen's first major role as an adult, though she did previously play a young Selene in the action-packed Underworld: Evolution (her mother is Kate Beckinsale in case you spotted the resemblance). Right now, she's no doubt looking to continue making an impact in Hollywood, and joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe or a certain Galaxy Far, Far Away would be the way to do it.
In our review of The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, we said that Sheen delivers a "star-making turn" as Cage's daughter, so strongly recommend checking her out in the film this weekend.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent arrives in theaters on April 22.
