J.J. Abrams Reveals A Surprising Detail About Rey And Kylo Ren's STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Duel
Another excerpt from J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Director's Commentary has been released, and the filmmaker reveals a surprise bit of info about Rey and Kylo Ren's lightsaber battle...
You might think that the final battle between Rey and Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was carefully planned out from the start, but in the video below, director J.J. Abrams reveals that Selma helmer Ava DuVernay played a role in the inclusion one of the sequence's most memorable moments. That is the shot where the hero goes on the attack against Ren, and it was added during reshoots.
That's not all though, as Abrams also decided to include the shot where Rey takes a breather, closes her eyes, and feels the Force flow through her. How much of an impact did that have? Well, it's easy to imagine the whole battle feeling different had that not ultimately been in there, but check out the clip below, and then be sure to let us know what you think of Abrams' remarks in the comments section.
