Have you guys actually seen the show? I really think it's the best of the Stargates -- interesting characters, REALLY gritty and well done.

They successfully taken "Lost in Space", depression and Stargate and merged it into one. The bad thing about this show is lack of action. They had something good with SG-1 and Atlantis. But then they went all 'Ron Moore - Battlestar Galactia' and took that which was good and transformed into that which sucks big time.

Number21, have you seen the show lately? Latter part of first season and this year so far has had quite a bit of action.

I love this show, it's far more character driven than the other Stargate shows.

@Ed - yeah I am critical of the show but I do watch it. It has had more action but lacks what they had in SG-1. Something about the show, its not just there yet. I find it hard to get into. To me it probably would have been good to take a 2-3 year break from the Stargate.

this show is great. the Characters are excellent there isnt anyone i am annoyed with. their interaction with eachother is very well done. action is really picking up and the effects in them selves deserve praise. yay SGU!!!

I'd say this is the best iteration of the base product since SG-1. Make no mistake, it's STILL not as good as the movie, but then again, the spin-offs rarely are. Thank god it's not as bad as Atlantis. I tend to agree with Number21 (would the Monarch agree, I dunno!) in that it's lacking enough action to keep me hooked. While I enjoy the introspective episodes wherein they examine the human condition...but this much is about to leave me bored. If it weren't for Rush (Carlyle hasn't played an @$$hole this great since Begby) and Chloe (ROWR!!!!) I'd have no reason to watch the show...

...I'm just thankful that it's no longer competing with Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

This show isnt for everyone and is a completely different type of show to SG1 and Atlantis it cant really be compared to them.

I couldnt even bring myself to watch Battlestar Calatica, prefer this over BSG anyday.

Also Robert Carlyle... Robert freakin' Carlyle is awesome!!
