Timothee Chalamet Reveals That "No Hard Drugs, No Superhero Movies" Advice Came From Leonardo DiCaprio

You may recall Timothee Chalamet revealing that one of his heroes gave him some sage advice when his career was just kicking-off, and the Dune star has now named his adviser as Leonardo DiCaprio.

Timothee Chalamet was already poised to hit it big in Hollywood when he landed the lead role in Dune after impressing in the likes of Call Me By Your Name and Little Women, but playing Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi adaptation pretty much made him a household name.

When an actor reaches a certain level of fame, it almost seems inevitable that one of the major comic book franchises will come calling, and while most up-and-coming stars would jump at the chance to play a superhero, Chalamet has (so far) chosen to take a different path - possibly based on the advice of one of his heroes!

Last year, Chalamet revealed how he's able to keep a level head amid all the attention. “One of my heroes — I can’t say who or he’d kick my ass — he put his arm around me the first night we met and gave me some advice: No hard drugs, and no superhero movies.”

Now, during a new interview with Vogue, the Willy Wonka actor has decided to name his adviser as none other than Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood and Don't Look Up star Leonardo DiCaprio.

DiCaprio has famously stayed away from big studio franchises over the years, so it's fair to say he has been taking his own advice. Will Chalamet follow-suit? You have to believe the highly in-demand actor has already had some offers, so it'll be interesting to see what the future holds.

Would you like to see Chalamet play a Marvel or DC Comics hero or villain? If so, which character do you think he'd be best suited to? Drop us a comment down below.

What is even the point of SF Gazette if you're just going to repost articles from there on the main?

Kinda bad advice. Superhero films allow you to make as much money as possible and give you the freedom to do smaller projects. You can be picky with your superhero films.

RDJ, christian bale, MBJ and so on and so on.

As for hard drugs?

Don't knock it before you try it🙆

@AmazingFILMporg - ''Don't knock it before you try it''

Guess that advice also goes for superhero movies as much as for hard drugs

@AmazingFILMporg - I don’t thin Bale neede Batman movies to do what he wanted but they sure revived RDJ’s career. Bale had mad powers of being able to disappear and become the character he is playing, including physical transformations.

Sounds about right. I mean, other than his fetish for younger women, Leo stays out of the limelight. Barely even gets interviewed. For someone as famous as him, it's impressive how he secretive he is.

@KWilly - is it a fetish if about 90% of men share that sentiment? 🙃

@SanFranLand - Yeah, its not a fetish. Its highly creepy but sadly normalized behavior.

Only creepy if coercion is involved
