Loadout: Going in Hot is live over at Machinima Prime. I had a chance of seeing a rouch cut last night and had fun watching it. I love all of the recent productions showcased on Machinima Prime, Loadout: Going in Hot is just another one that I hope they follow up episodically.

Richard and I were having so much fun during the interview talking about Battlestar and Loadout--time had run out. If you haven't read the interview (yet) that went live this morning at 11:00 AM (alongside the short film). You can check it out HERE. I just recieved our post interview follow-up questions back from Richard and I'd like to share them with you.

CBM Manny: "You're also in the upcoming and highly fandom anticipated Star Trek: Axanar? Playing Kharn. I was a literary guest alongside JG Hertzler earlier this year at a convention in Virginia (ROFcon) and he and I had a blast together--It was my first time meeting him--I see he's co-starring in this independent Trek film alongside you. What was it like playing your character with Trek/Klingon Royalty?

J.G. Hertzler as Martok!

Richard Hatch: "JG Hertzler is one amazing man and actor and its always a pleasure to work with him and I love his version of a Klingon, but as to playing Karn, I have to find my own unique version and believe me I’m studying and learning as well from all the other wonderful actors who have played Klingon characters.  I do think one has to find a balance between the warrior code and underlying aggressive tone and body language of the Klingons and the more sophisticated, refined and intelligent Klingons we have seen in the Christopher Plummer version.  Karn is such an amazingly complex and profoundly deep character and I’m really enjoying the process of exploring who he is and climbing into his skin.  And it’s definitely an ongoing process at this point.  I’ve only begun to discover this character."

CBM Manny: "What can you tell us about Axanar? I know it's about 'Garth of Izar' and the 4 year war prior to the TOS timeline."

Steve Ihnat as Garth of Izar in the episode "Whom Gods Destroy" ...and a sexy alien...

RH: "Axanar takes place while Kirk is still in Star Fleet academy and Garth of Izar is the star ship Capt that Kirk most looks up to. Garth is best known for the battle of AXANAR which has never really been explored in any detail."

Cast of Star Trek: Axanar | Alec Peters (Garth of Izar), Kate Vernon (Capt. Sonya Alexander), & Richard Hatch (Cmdr. Kharn)

CBM Manny: "I'm also curious about this mini-series you're on--After Hell? What can you tell us about this series?"

RH: "After Hell is a post apocalyptic story that I really don’t know that much about. I’m still waiting for the script to see how my character and the story evolves. It’s another work in progress."

CBM Manny: "Who would you play in a big budget comic book or science fiction movie if you had your choice? (This was the follow-up to my last question which was unable to be answered at the time)."

RH: "As far as a character I would most like to play in the Sci-fi/Comic hero universe...it would most probably be Wolverine.  He’s more grounded, real, human and complex with a more unresolved and conflicted sensibility."

This could be fun! Machinima | Wayside ...I think you have a possible future short to play with here!

Loadout: Going in Hot is available to watch (the video above) and of course on Machinima Prime. Thank you Richard Hatch for taking the time to reply to my post-interview questions. I hope you (CBM audience members) enjoy this short film, it looks like they had a lot of fun filming it. The Trekkie in me from High School wants to see that fan film with Garth of Izar. And the adult in me that pays taxes is like "No! No...we made so much progress..."

Actually @McGee it's not really a fan-film. It's an independent film project that was given permission to proceed...however, it is not directly backed by Paramount. From what I've seen it's the best looking Indie Trek project out there. Some of them (I won't say which) are absolutely awful.

...oh yes, and Hi PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Okay.

Manny, thanks for posting this.

I think this is simply a vehicle to show that Richard Hatch STILL has the acting chops. And I have NO problem with that, because I really have enjoyed ALMOST every time I have seen Mr. Hatch act, EXCEPT for the ipecac-like scenes when he was almost baby-talking Boxie to like the Daggit in front of Jane Seymour.

I think Richard Hatch is a LEGITIMATE actor who deserves work, especially in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To me, the guy just SCREAMS comic book movie actor.

I hope a script, and production company, comes along and greenlights ANY project for Richard Hatch. And the same for Dirk Benedict. I loved BOTH these guys on the only real Battlestar Galactica, and really, really wish that BOTH get the recognition in new contracts that they have both deserved these many, many years in the interim.

Thanks, many.

And, oh GODS BELOW, @McGee is back. Let me gather my senses and wreck the totems to the demons to keep that worthless bastard banned!

Oh, WAIT!

McGee! Lemme buy you a drink.
