When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Pacific Rim is set to hit theaters July 12th, 2013.

Pacific Rim looks BADASS. I hope this opens the door to more anime style films.

I still want to see an epic Cowboy Bepop movie and a Gungrave movie.

@sponge: yea man mass effect would be such a great movie! I LOVED those games. The only problem with a M.E. movie is that the game was such a personal journey many people would want to see their versions of the story rather than a generic one. Contrary to the masses, I thought the ending to the games was amazing. no more humans and no more A.I....just all one being...crazy

As a kid in that '80's that watched Robot Jox on HBO too many times and had a christmas '86 dedicated to Matchbox's 1:18 Robotech line, this movie is so on my radar all I can muster is, "Cream Dream!"

Robot Jox meets Patlabor meets Robotech meets Evangelion meets The Host meets the real estate between my butthole and ballsack. The movie looks insane, hella' fun and I am counting the days! I keep forgetting it's Del Toro!
