Another STAR WARS REBELS Character Reveal: Meet 'Zeb'

IGN have the exclusive reveal of yet another member of the crew of "The Ghost". This time it's the muscle: Zeb, a brand new race to the Star Wars universe who'll be voiced by Cowboy Bebop's Steve Blum. Check out the video intro after the jump.

Here's what Blum said about voicing Zeb.

"I think I actually screamed when I was booked to play Zeb. It is literally a role of a lifetime. I've been lucky enough to play some major superhero roles in my career, but to be given the chance to play a new character in a Star Wars series? Brain explosion. As if working on a Star Wars series - in any capacity - wasn't enough to cause a grown man to squee, Zeb challenges every acting skill in my arsenal and beyond. His character design is amazing. I get to vocally take on ape-like physical power and abilities, a wicked sense of humor, intelligence and integrity, and so much more that I can't yet reveal. The attention to detail from the entire production team is inspiring. Every bit of minutia is carefully crafted to satisfy the most discerning fan of the franchise. I'm humbled and honored to be a part of the Rebels crew. I promise I will dig as deep as I'm allowed to give you guys the performance I would hope for as a fan. Get ready, guys. You're in for one helluva ride."

Urrgh!.... this looks even more childish than Clone Wars!. Whatever happened to the live-action TV series they planned?.

I could do without new species to the Star Wars universe. There are so many unused species already out there. Do we really need an original one?

@Gmoney84 -- at least "Zeb" is based on the original McQuarrie concept art for Chewbacca, so even though he's 'new', it still works.

Is Zeb from Australia or New Zealand?

Oh...and Steve Blum's got a sweet voice.
He sounds like Logan from Wolverine and the X-men.

I like the Merc feel I'm getting from this character.

I remember the rumor that said Freddie Prinze Jr, Taylor Gray , Steve Blum, Vanessa Marshal, and David Oyelowo were all going to voice in Rebels.

Pretty accurate so far. I wonder if Oyelowo is going to be the voice of the Inquisitor. That would be so awesome.

Does Steve Blun REALLY get booked for anything?
Him, Kevin Michael rihardson and Jennifer Hale are in everything, so I figured they just walk into a recording studio and just pick scripts off the floor...

@GetsugaTensho22 Samuel L Jackson of Voice acting lol.

But he has said that he is a huge Star Wars fan, so it shouldn't be surprising that he would join this series.
