Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still kicking ass at the North American box office as it looks set to dominate the Holiday weekend and hit the $500 million mark by Sunday. Rising by 1% from yesterday, the movie is projected to make $37.9 million - $38.2 million today, and that takes its current total to roughly $363 million. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to annihilate Jurassic World's record by reaching $500 million in 10 days in comparison to the 17 days that sequel took. Early projections have the J.J. Abrams helmed release on course to make between $150 million - $162 million over the weekend, but if last weekend taught us anything, it's that it could go even higher! We'll just have to wait and see on that, but we'll keep you updated with how Star Wars: The Force Awakens performs over the next few days. Will you be seeing it again this weekend?

They should lend some $$$ to the First Order, so they can better a better Death Star. A cool one that can't be taken down by a few X-Wing fighters....again.

Could someone tell me, do preordered tickets count ahead of time? I have tickets for this weekend that I bought last weekend. Is that included in the movie's haul or do they wait until the day you actually see it? The tickets are not refundable

It deserve every dime. And if it hits 500 million by Sunday, it's beating Avatar at least domestically

My question is... are you typing these Star Wars articles one handed while sweating a lot Josh?

And it won't beat Avatar.

The only thing I don't like is the first 2 acts are so perfect and the third act we have another Death Star attack and it blows up.

Still Rian Johnson will deliver a masterpiece with Episode 8. Thankfully he's writing Episode 9.

Seen it twice already, I'll probably do it again this week. Maybe Friday.

It's just so good, especially for a die hard Star Wars fan like me.

To put that in context, she hasn't gone to see a movie in the theater in something like seven years.

Lol. Not even a little bit. The Star Wars hard ons are a little much though, lol.

@RavenTheHunter

Cool bro. You gonna post it when it doesn't pass Avatar? If it does, cool, I have no love for Avatar either, it's terrible. I just don't think it has a chance to get there. Passing Titanic is a possibility though. #3 all time is pretty much a guarantee.

Finn is a Jedi.

The way things happened during the movie in regards to him can not be explained any other way, unless he was a Jedi. The part when Kylo Ren stop dead in his tracks and stared directly at him, can only be because Klyo Ren felt his force presence.

TFA is great. A perfect movie before Maz's castle, after that it dips slightly but still great.

Absolutely loved the movie, but I agree the Starkiller base was too easy to destroy. Would have made sense if the First Order had learned from the Empire's mistakes. Perhaps they could have chosen an inhabited planet for their base, thus making it hard for the Resistance to destroy it without also killing innocent civilians.

I never knew Avatar had so many hardcore fans. [frick] that movie.

I still need to go 4 more times to see this.

Rule of thumb for viewing TFA: Take the number of times you paid to watch THE PHANTOM MENACE and multiply by 3. (You know you deluded yourself into watching it 3X+ back in 1999.)

Congrats to the movie! But I still hate it with a passion! Terrible movie!

Because I am a SW fan I really hope this brings down Avatar!

My only problem with this movie is that it was a remake of ANH with a white girl, black guy, and a Hispanic as your protagonists. Other than that, it was really fun movie.
