Star Wars: The Force Awakens has toppled yet another of Jurassic World's box office records, earning $1 billion worldwide in just twelve days. With an amazing haul of $153.5 million at the North American box office this weekend, it now has a total domestic haul of $544.6 million, and there's talk of the movie potentially earning upwards of $1 billion in the US alone. It will definitely top Avatar's $760.5 million to become the highest earner ever in the country regardless. Overseas, Star Wars: The Force Awakens took an additional $133.3 million for a total of $546 million, hency why it has a jaw dropping cume of $1.09 billion worldwide. What makes these numbers even more impressive is the fact that the movie has gone this high without the help of China. Had it opened there day and date like Jurassic World did, who knows how quickly Star Wars: The Force Awakens would have reached $1 billion! Next? $2 billion, of course. How many times have you seen it?

It's definitely on the right path to 2 billion. Especially with another holiday weekend coming up, and the big release in China.

Kylo Ren was the best and most original character in this movie. every other part of this movie is a close copy of the original New Hope.
...Poe Dameron is the equivalent to Princess Leia. Not only does he bring us into the movie, but he is revered. not as a princess, but as someone who is the best at what he does. He also has a secret that he hides from The Empire by stashing it in a droid. Poe starts a bromance with a Han Solo-type character, Finn.
...Finn resembles Solo because he is looking out for number one, himself. Although he is reluctant, he eventually grows to join the resistance.
...Finally the obvious comparison with Rey and Luke. Rey, an orphaned youth on a desert planet with the potential to wield The Force. She eagerly leaves her monotonous lifestyle to fight for justice in a grand space adventure.
...Although the character skill sets may be jumbled, the characters are the same and the story is the same. All except for Kylo Ren.
...An unfinished Darth whom I fear will eventually follow the same path as his mentor.
With all that said, I loved this movie. Mainly because with all the similarities, it got the one similarity correct...the tone.
