Forest Whitaker Joins The Casts Of STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE And THE CROW

According to Variety, Forest Whitaker is set to join the cast of the first Star Wars Anthology movie, Gareth Edwards' Rogue One. He joins a cast which currently includes Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna and Ben Mendelsohn, but there's no word on who he will play yet. It's an impressive addition to the cast nonetheless, and it should be interesting to see whose side he falls in the movie which focuses on a group of Rebels who set out to steal the plans of the first Death Star. 

The site also reveals that's after Whitaker finishes working on The Story of Your Life, he'll star in The Crow. Once again, the site doesn't have any details on which role he will take on in the remake.

Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, and Forest Whitaker, all directed by Gareth Edwards, in a STAR WARS movie that's been described as much more gritty and morally ambiguous than the main trilogies?

Thats wasup even after winning a academy award this guy is still underated, we need to see him in more stuff, and Star Wars is perfect

"Albrecht as he appears in the movie is a combination of a street officer named Albrecht in the comics and Police Captain Hook"

If they are sticking close to the comic book Whitaker is playing either Albrecht or Hook.

If they are copying the movie then he will play the combination of both. Which i think is bad. Stick to the comic book, do not copy the movie.

Great actor, and he's also helped produced some of the most influential Afro-Centric films in hollywood. Last film I saw him in was "Repentance" and he was great!

Haha @InfiniteMonkey, fair play mate. But for Hollywood it's still pretty decent. Jones is the lead, and Riz and Luna are meant to have meaty roles too so it's a good start anyway. Hopefully they can add even more talent to this pic in future weeks too!
