During today's Rio Olympics, a TV Spot/commericial of sorts aired during the event, detailing that the official Rogue One trailer will air during Thursday's events. We may end up seeing the trailer sooner than Thursday as is the case as most trailers get released online ahead of their TV debuts. Although it was thought that we'd be seeing a new Rogue One trailer during San Diego Comic-Con, that was not the case as we only saw a featurette showing behind the scenes footage and characters not seen in the initial teaser trailer.

UPDATE: Here's a tweet sent out by the official Star Wars Twitter handle:

Are you excited for the new Rogue One trailer? Sound off below.
Star Wars: Rogue One will be released on December 16, 2016.
Resistance fighters (Felicity Jones, Diego Luna) embark on a daring mission to steal the Empire's plans for the Death Star.

@Darkknight2149 - I'm cautiously optimistic that it will show Vader or at least show Vader in the way that that exclusive Celebration Surope trailer showed him at the end of the teaser.

Same strategy they used when the trailer dropped during that Monday Night Football game last year, good idea to reach the most people possible.
