First look at Princess Leia. Star Wars Rebels

TVInsider has just revealed that Princess Leia Organa will appear on Star Wars Rebels when the series makes its returns next week! She will appear on the newest episode titled, "A Princess in Lothal", which is set to air on January 20 at 9/8c on Disney XD. The site describes the episode as followed:

"The teenage princess is sent to Lothal—the base planet for the series’ main characters, a group of rebel fighters—on a secret mission to bring ships for the rebel fleet. Unfortunately an Imperial lockdown throws that plan into chaos."

With the appearance of Leia, this marks the sixth time a character from the original Star Wars films have appeared on Star Wars Rebels (Darth Vader, C-3PO, R2-D2, Yoda and Lando Calrissian). It should also be noted that Carrie Fisher will not reprise her role in the show, instead Julie Dola (who did the voice for Leia in Star Wars: Uprising), will take on the role.

Dave Filoni, the executive producer of the series, revealed his thoughts on the awesome announcement. “We thought we had an opportunity to show her learning to be a leader, experimenting with the personality that becomes the stronger more resolute character you see in A New Hope. One of the complex challenges of depicting Leia in Rebels is that we have to remind the audience that at this point she is part of the Empire. She doesn’t believe in the Empire, but she is acting the part, almost a double agent." It's going to be very interesting to see what Princess Leia - who is now General Leia in the newest Star Wars film- will bring to the series! I don't know about you, but I know i'll be tuning in! Wow that looks surprisingly accurate! Not to certain about the double agent angle, though. Wasn't Bail Organa very outspoken in the Imperial Senate? I'm not sure Leia would have faked support for Imperial policies either. There's a reason Alderaan was destroyed, beyond intimidating Leia.

Cool! There was a rumor that she would appear when the season began. I'm (as well as my son) really enjoying the new season. Can't wait for the new episodes to start airing.

@DerekLake

But...that's what she is. In Episode IV before Vader arrests her, Leia tries to pretend like she was on a diplomatic mission for the Empire. She's always been a double agent right up until she's arrested and taken to the Death Star.

I like the idea that Carrie Fisher showed up unannounced to record her character's lines. The staff didn't feel like hurting her feelings, so they allowed her to record them and deleted those files after she left, giving her 20 bucks so she'd feel like she was paid.

This show is f ucking awful. I can't believe this is canon. Dave Filoni should not be the one running this, Clone Wars was shit, and now he brings Captain Rex into this...why?

Also who the hell are the inquisitors? They aren't Sith but they can use the force? SMH. The only saving grace is that hopefully Kaanen & Ezra and Ahsoka will be killed before episode 4.

@nikgrid

You know that not everyone that uses the force is Jedi or Sith, right?

Like Asajj Ventress or Kylo Ben.

My guess is that the Inquisitors are trained by Maul, that was held captive by Sidious that had "other plans" for him.

Clone Wars was good in the beginning, but towards the last few seasons it was really a struggle to watch, just a few episodes per season were really entertaining.

Mainly the return of Darth Maul.

I didn't care much of Rebels because i still had to go through the last season of CW, but it was really fun to watch despite what i thought and watched all the episodes in a few days.

The Empire should use Lothal as target practice for the Death Star.
