STAR WARS EPISODE VII To BREAK BAD? Production Reportedly Heading To New Mexico

Considering the fact that the likes of The Avengers, Thor and The Lone Ranger were all at least partially shot in New Mexico (the home of AMC's Breaking Bad in case you didn't get that reference), Star Wars Episode VII is also said to be heading there. Read on for details!

One Headlight Ink claims to have confirmed - via Disney - that the J.J. Abrams helmed Star Wars Episode VII will share production duties with London and Los Angeles, by filming at least some of the highly anticipated release in New Mexico. The majority of the film will be shot at Pinewood Studios, while it was recently revealed that the director had converted part of his Bad Robot offices in order to do post production there. While the desert there may seem like the ideal choice to portray an alien landscape, Disney will apparently once again take advantage of the A-1 studio facilities and crew; this is where the massive Helicarrier set was built for The Avengers. Crossover time? Hardly, but stay tuned to CBM for further details as production is set to begin early 2014.

@batz

Yes, but they screwed up and put Gus in a juvenile facility. They say, during that time, on a quiet night you could hear the cries echoing for miles, followed by an ancient voice demanding more "chocolate-covered butter balls".

I won't mind Tatooine if it's for a limited time.

But I would like to see them go to new planets if possible.

Trouble is, New Mexico isn't at all like Tunisia (where they filmed the original Tatooine). There's no location that I'm aware of that is completely void of vegetation, there are tons of small plants and lush mountains nearby.

The other article said Las Cruces. I hope it is because I live in El Paso, so I will definately be able to creep on up there.

Yep, all the news agencies here in NM have been reporting this story since the beginning of the week. Right on, right on.

Doubt they're gonna try to use NM deserts as Tatooine, maybe something like Dantoine or a different world, but not Tatooine.

speaking of star wars, TRUDY was tragically maimed when she confused a lightsabre with her dildo.

@ Shawnb

El Paso know as the armpit of Texas, heck New Mexico and even Mexico did not want that place.

But man you got some hot babes there.

LOL, I agree. The weather is hot, the ladies are hot, the food is good, the landscape..... desolate and depleted.
