STAR WARS: Is Lawrence Kasdan Working On The 'Boba Fett' Spin-Off Movie?

In an interview with AMC Movie Talk, Metalocalypse director Jon Schnepp seemingly confirms that a solo outing for the enigmatic bounty hunter is indeed in the works, with Empire Strikes Back scribe Lawrence Kasdan on writing duties. Read on for more.

Boba Fett remains one of the most popular Star Wars characters of all time - despite not really doing very much in either of the movies he appears in! We had heard various rumors that the Mandolorian bounty hunter would be the focus of one of the spin-off flicks said to be in the works at Disney/Lucasfilm, and now director Jon Schnepp seems to have confirmed as much..and he claims Lawrence Kasdan is on board as a writer too. "One of them is Boba Fett," he said of the planned spin-offs (via Yahoo) "It is. I know. I know for a fact. I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan." Obviously until this is official we'll have to treat it as a rumor, no matter how certain Schnepp says he is. If Kasdan is the man to bring Fett back to our screens though, I can think of no better man for the job - after all he did co-create the character. Thoughts? By the way that was how Boba Fett was introduced to the public before he was shown in the Empire Strikes Back. So the lucky few that tuned into that horrible SW Holiday Special knew who Boba Fett was going into the second the movie.

...I'm cool with it. Especially if Kasdan is onboard. The only thing I'm worried about is the Supporting cast. With a character like Fett, you need someone else in the movie to relate to (example: 2012 Dredd).

Well take for instance the scene they cut out of Empire Strikes back where Boba Fett ambushes another Bounty IG-88. You can still see the remains of IG 88 in the movie when they are trying to throw C 3PO in the furnace.

They should make Force Unleashed movies. Those games bridge the gap really well and Boba is a prominent character in the second one. Hopefully they make a 3rd picking up with Boba tracking Starkiller's ship.

It could be, that has never been confirmed. The only confirmed was IG-88 in the original script IG-88 gets to Cloud City First and Boba Fett ambushes him and kills him.

On second look, the one on the right is more likely Zuckuss. The one on the left looks more like armour.
