STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER Images Reveal A Deleted Scene Featuring Kylo Ren & Darth Vader's Helmet

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's upcoming Blu-ray release doesn't include any deleted scenes, but some newly surfaced images showcase a moment featuring Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Darth Vader's helmet...

Despite there clearly being a lot of moments that ended up on the cutting room floor, the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Blu-ray won't include any deleted scenes.

Now, though, some images have found their way online (via Imgur) which show Kylo Ren once again paying his respects to his grandfather, Darth Vader. Early on in the movie, we learned that Emperor Palpatine had spent years imitating the Sith Lord to manipulate Ben Solo for his own nefarious means, so he never actually communicated with Vader.

This scene may well have dealt with that in some way, but it's hard to say for sure.

Either way, this new Star Wars trilogy never really addressed Vader's legacy, and the fact that Anakin Skywalker never returned as a Force Ghost (which was one of the plans for The Force Awakens) is a shocker. The prevailing theory is that The Rise of Skywalker's deleted scenes will be included on Disney+, but it's hard to say for sure (that would certainly explain why there's none on the Blu-ray).

Vader's helmet did factor into the Skywalker Saga finale, but only very briefly. On the plus side, Anakin Skywalker's voice could be heard when Rey rose up to defeat The Emperor.

They had to address Kylo saying "Show me again, Grandfather" in The Force Awakens somehow. It was like everybody just forgot that scene happened.

The Last Jedi didn't pick it up and stunt it like everything else in The Force Awakens, they just didn't even pick it up at all. Imagine if the trilogy had concluded with them not addressing it at all.

@Nebula - Palpetine did address it in TROS. At the ending he said "all the voices you heard in your head" to kylo ren was his doing, then it played a brief snippet of darth vader's breathing problem.

That is why Darth Vader never appeared as a force ghost, Palpetine was only faking his voice to trick Kylo to the dark side. Stupid? I know, but we can only work with whats been given to us by the disney warlords.

@BillCipher - Anakin never appeared to Kylo because he's not a sith ghost (and reasons listed above). JJ Abrams explained it in interviews that he wanted to make 9 all about Rey, Leia, & Luke and thats why he chose not to include any other force ghost. He says if they had all shown up it would make no sense and be meaningless because Rey/Kylo never knew or met those other jedis.

@mastakilla39 - Dude. My comment was legitimately me saying that they had to address it somehow as The Last Jedi ignored it. I never say they didn't. I'm entirely referring to the fact that they did.

Palpatine pretending to be Vader is no excuse for Anakin not showing up. "Anakin never appeared to Kylo because he's not a sith ghost" nor is he a Jedi ghost, he's a Force ghost.

JJ not wanting to include them isn't an excuse either. In that case, he would at least need to provide reason for why they're not appearing within the fiction itself. He didn't — and now we've looped back around to Cipher's initial comment.

@BillCipher - "Anakin could have still appeared and sort out kylos issues in ten seconds." You really would think they would account for it considering that's the entire foundation that Kylo is built on.

"Plus im pretty sure Ben would know of his own grandfather at least." Not sure what you mean by that. We know he is. Maybe you mean that Kylo would be aware that Anakin denounced Vader and Palpatine.

@BillCipher - Ah alright then. Honestly, I didn't bother reading through their entire comment.

@TheJustinHammer @Nebula @BillCipher - Yeah but Rey/Kylo have never met, seen, or interacted with Anakin/Darth Vader thats why JJ said it would've been meaningless to bring him back. Same reason why Yoda is not in this film either.

Not trying to defend 9, as that movie is as terrible and manufactured as Justice League. Just trying to present JJ's reasoning on why he didn't do any of this

@mastakilla39 - Doesn't matter if it would have been meaningless. He at least needs to explain why they're not about. We're talking the sequel trilogy as a whole. The Force Awakens, right off the bat. Put an expiry date on Force Ghosts, I don't [frick]ing know.

"Rey/Kylo have never met, seen, or interacted with Anakin/Darth Vader"
By that logic, why was anything from the OT brought back?

@Nebula - "Rey/Kylo have never met, seen, or interacted with Anakin/Darth Vader. By that logic, why was anything from the OT brought back?"

Disney and the creative team they brought on for the new trilogy just didn't know how to move on from these beloved characters. That's why this new trilogy is so disappointing because 7-9 rely too much on the past stories, characters, and fans. TLJ tried to end everything and force everyone to move onto new creating new ideas but the fan outcry was too loud, disney got scared, went backwards for 9, and we got TROS which made no 1 happy.

@mastakilla39 - That I can agree with but it’s not really relevant.

Glad the Rise of Skywalker Novelization undid the movie's biggest mistake, i.e. implying that Palpatine is not gay.

Isn't this from the part in the movie where he touches the mask and then Force connects with Rey?
