According to a report by Variety, Starz has officially acquired the pay-TV rights to Star Wars: The Force Awakens! The report says that “The Force Awakens” was the last Star Wars film on in the Disney-Starz deal, and it was quite tricky for premium cable network to snatch it up! Since the seventh Star Wars film came out at the very end of the year, Starz pretty much had to scramble to secure the rights under the deal. The right movie to set the pieces up for the next two installments. Paid the right amount of homage to episode 4 (it was necessary to get back on track after the prequels, whether you like them or not, you can't deny they don't feel like the original saga), and still it felt fresh for new audiences.
