The 2nd Half Of STAR WARS REBELS Season 2 Will Explore The Backgrounds Of 'Zeb' & 'Sabine'
Executive Producer Dave Filoni spoke about the many things we’ll see in the second season of Star Wars Rebels. Aside from all of the Jedi-y things we’ll lay eyes on, Filoni also revealed that they’ll shine some light on the other supporting characters. Hit the jump to check it out!

While Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka are taking over the primary plot lines for the newest Star Wars Rebels season, Dave Filoni (the EP of the series) revealed that we will get some strong arcs featuring the other rebel members (Hera, Sabine, and Zeb). While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Filoni revealed a great deal of information about each of the other Rebels, starting with Zeb…
If you remember from Rebel’s first season, Zeb is supposedly the last of his kind, which if referred to as the Lasat. However, Filoni revealed some rather interesting tidbits about Zeb going forward. "He might not be the last one,” Filoni said.
After looking at the image above, you will find an old lady creature who looks very similar to Zeb’s species and another in the upper right hand corner. Are the two of the same race? Here’s what Filoni had to say about it. "He would certainly be surprised to see them." With that said, we move on to the next Rebel, Hera.
While Hera already had some major story arcs in the first half of the second season, the second half will explore a very different part of her life – her family. Entertianment Weekly revealed in their report that Hera will "gets a visit from her father, Cham Syndulla", who was "a Twi'lek warrior from The Clone Wars show." Pretty cool, right?
Filoni said the following about the reveal. "This poor guy, right? His whole life has been war when you look at it — fighting in the Clone Wars, and probably right when it looked like things are breaking in a good way for him with a Republic and the end of the Separatists, here comes an Empire." He then added, “But Cham's history of organizing his people against oppressive forces proves useful as they lay the foundation for a new rebel alliance.”
Last but not least, we have Sabine. The Mandalorain warrior, who teams up with the rest of the Rebel fleet. Just like Zeb, Sabine will also have strong story arcs that feature her meeting up with two unnamed Mandalorians (supposedly in the image above). "People have been very excited about Sabine, and we wanted to get more into her background and her history and her family history, and [actress Tiya Sircar] has done a great job at evolving the character.” Filoni said to EW. "So there will be some episodes which dive back into the Mandalorian realm and show a couple new things about them that perhaps fans didn’t know. I think it opens up the door for more Mandalorian madness in the future." What do you think? Are you excited for the new episodes? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
