Steven Spielberg Putting The Production Of ROBOPOCALYPSE On Hold

Despite the fact that the likes of Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers), Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables) and Ben Whishaw (Skyfall) were all gearing up to start shooting Robopocalypse this Spring, director Steven Spielberg has now put the project on hold. Read on for details!

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Steve Spielberg has pushed back production on Robopocalypse. While some are speculating that this is a result of him being "wiped out" after filming and promoting the critically acclaimed Lincoln, his spokesman Marvin Levy told the site that the film is simply "too important and the script is not ready, and it's too expensive to produce. It's back to the drawing board to see what is possible." That's definitely not a good sign when the film was supposed to begin production in just a few months time. While there is currently no word on when it now WILL begin shooting, Spielberg has NOT left the project. He may however move on to Gods & Kings in the meantime. Be sure to stay tuned to CBM for future updates!

As long as Hemsworth and especially Hathaway still remain involved I will be happy.

Good idea, lest ye get smashed by Star Wars VII, Avengers II and GOTG. Is it just me or does Robopocalypse sound a little doofy?

Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers), Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables).

Love how Hathaway is credited for her earlier work rather than the POS TDKR. Shows further how crappy her performance and that movie was.

Queue the nolanites.

They'll push back the release date. Can't say I'm surprised.

I wonder how this will jive with Hemsworth's filming schedule. I would imagine Avengers 2 and Thor 3 are going to be occupying a lot of his production time. Not to mention anything else he may be committed to.

@OptimusPrimeTime
Yeah this more than likely means that Hemsworth is out.
