SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE Concept Art Reveals Closer Look At The Characters And Costumes - Part 2

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse continues to rack up awards and accolades, and the signs are all pointing to this animated adventure winning the big one at the Oscars ("Best Animated Picture" not "Best Picture," sadly). It also passed $300 million at the worldwide box office this weekend.

In this second round of artwork, the spotlight is moved to Miles Morales, Spider-Noir, Peni Parker, the robotic SP//dr, and supporting players like Mary Jane and Doc Ock.

The most amazing thing about this artwork is that it offers a much closer look at certain details on the costumes, a lot of which you may have missed while watching Into the Spider-Verse in theaters. The work that went into dreaming up this animated "Spider-Verse" is spectacular and it will be very interesting to see how Sony tries to top it in the planned sequel.

We'll have to wait and see on that front but to check out this artwork, all you guys have to do is click on the "View List" button below!

Miles Morales

In an unexpected move, Miles Morales uses spray paint to design his costume and it both pays homage to the source material while also delivering something new and fresh for the young superhero.

Mary Jane

Mary Jane doesn't have a particularly large role in Into the Spider-Verse and spends most of her screentime mourning Peter Parker. With any luck, we'll see a little more of her in the eventual sequel.

Spider-Noir

Voiced by Nicolas Cage, Spider-Noir has emerged from this animated adventure as a bona fide fan-favourite and it would definitely be fun to explore his black and white world down the line.

Peni Parker

Peni Parker brought an anime feel to Into the Spider-Verse and a lot of young girls gravitated more towards her than Spider-Gwen. Whether or not that means a spinoff could happen is hard to say.

SP//dr

Seeing SP//dr in action was a lot of fun and while he had something of a tragic end, the door was left open for the robot to be rebuilt and live to fight another day, perhaps as soon as the planned sequel.

This artwork shows all the different expressions Sp//dr is capable of making and they're all extremely cool. I'm not sure if we saw all of these in the movie but Sony clearly gave them a lot of thought.

You may not realise it but these are the stickers which cover SP//dr and, well, they're all pretty funky looking! The level of thought and details in the movie is truly astonishing and very impressive.

Doc Ock

Doctor Octopus is gender-swapped in Into the Spider-Verse and it's a decision which works really well. Her tentacles are much different to anything we've seen on screen before and look amazing.

Many thanks to Yashar Kassai for this amazing artwork! Click here for the rest of the artwork.

@IKidYouNotMan - i know you probably mean far from home but this comment with the context of the article makes it feel like you're demanding a sequel to into the spiderverse when the movie just came out.

@Origame - No it doesn't.

@GratefulBat - yes it does. Other than spiderman, far from home has nothing to do with into the spiderverse

@Origame - Alright man. You and I clearly knew exactly what he meant. I understand the 2 movies are in different continuities. I'm not sure what you're getting at.

@GratefulBat - the fact that there was no context that this is meant for far from home. Because, again, this is an article about into the spiderverse. Just say far from home trailer.

@Origame - Context? We are on a CB(movie) RUMOR site. Forgive the OP if they expect you to have a basic understanding of CB's and their films.

You're kind of givin off a hall monitor vibe here.

@GratefulBat - dude, its been literally 2 weeks since my last comment here. Wanna talk about a hall monitor vibe? You're literally the only one still caring about this.

@Origame - YA I don't check my alerts often. It looks like there was another 2 week gap in this discussion earlier. You're right though, neither one of us really does care about this. Cheers and Peace to you.

The art is really, really good. I can't wait to see what designs they come up with for the sequel.

Cant help but feel Sony or Marvel (who ever has the toy and merchandising rights to do so) are dropping the ball with merch sales for this. This movie, maybe more so than any comic book film property ever, has given itself free reign to essentially print money with just endless toy sales and merch, shirts backpacks lunchboxes (if kids still use them, I have no idea) just literally endless variations of Spiderman toys... I'm genuinely surprised Marvel or Sony or whoever are jumping on it's best animated feature win and just flooding toy store shelves and grocery store toy sections with Into The Spiderverse merch.

I say this because a couple of those images would make dope action figures or statues which got me to thinking.... why haven't I seen ANY Into The Spiderverse merch literally anywhere out in the real world?
