I would make it into a Alien Invasion movie (mix War or the Worlds/ SKyline) with a scary/evil/dark/Pinhead type Darkseid.

I would take away all those lame ass corny 70's jokes (Superman Return)that dont translate with todays times.

I wouldnt make Superman into this retarted studdering guy. I would just make him into a unnoticed/blended into the crowd reported. (Jake Gyllenhaal's character in Zodiac!)
