Superman goes to Court, Again

Superman goes to Court, Again

If you haven't heard or been following the case lately, Let me sum it up for you. The whole court case is really to determine how much money Warner Bros. and DC owe the Siegel Family from profits they collected from Superman since 1999.

And to make matters worse, copyright law will give the Siegel family full ownership of Superman in 2013. This is the date that matters, because after 2013, the Siegels could bring the property to other movie and television studios. So if Warner Bros wants to produce a new Superman movie before they are forced to pay major bucks for the rights, they will need to go into production by 2011.

Why is it so hard to get this ball rolling??? Its been said enough times by enough people on this site alone (let alone others) that the comic books have oodles of stories to glean into a decent script. They don't have to kill Supes with Doomy. Brainiac, Darkseid, or Zod would suffice a serial of films that could lead to a Doomsday climax. This isn't hard. Then, choose from a vast array of producers, directors and actors. They got the flippin' money!

So DC will loose Supes from its comics to?

Kinda a circular argument but if the Siegel's pull the rights of the character for thier own control it will kill the character or use the property with an inferior product. They need to strike a deal to continue what has come before. Pulp is dying and this just pulls another plug on it.
