The fight last night was pretty brutal by TV standards and down right barbaric by Marvel standards. All the Inhuman stuff is great, Simmons is carrying something, she's DEFINITELY changed. They could go in any number of directions with her and it's been great. I hope (hope, hope, hope) she's a Skrull but Im almost positive they cant use the Skrull's (or maybe it's only the Super Skrull they cant use).

This show finally feels like it has a purpose. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed both season 1 and 2 (although I certainly don't think they were spectacular) but both of the previous seasons felt like the team was just dealing with whatever situation fell into their laps. Now it feels like there is something they are actually working towards, à la finding and protecting inhumans. Last nights episode was a little uneventful, but it did relate directly to that goal (and the side missions actually feel like they belong). Definitely a solid first 3 episodes.

Here's how I think this season will tie into Civil War. It's pretty much been confirmed that secret identities will not be the main focus of the Registration act. But after the events of the movie, a lot of the newer heroes (Former Shield Agents, Inhumans, Defenders, and any other heroes that pop up in the movies) will start operating under their superhero alias in order to avoid being forced to register. Shield will become a safehaven for those people, and Agents of Shield will capitalize on that by introducing a bunch of new heroes.

Fast forward to next year, And AoS splits into two shows: Secret Warriors and Most Wanted.

@Humby... they were 100% dealing with situations that just fell into their laps. Winter Soldier completely blindsided the team and that took a long time to rebuild from. Plus they had to get Colson and Daisy sorted out. Now that they are on firmer ground they can be proactive. Considering all that was going on around them I thought the characters did a great job with all the fallout (and the show did a FANTASTIC job of getting it's direction.)

@ GliderMan... I want any character to be a Skrull. Not for a secrete invasion storyline, I want them established for the cosmic side. If they use AoS to establish or introduce Skrull's like they did the Inhumans I'm all for it. Plus if Simmons turned out to be a Skrull and the real Simmons was dead (or lost in space) that would make for a great story.

The best part of this show is that it doesn't connect to the movies to the point where you have to watch it to understand what's happening with the Avengers. Disney is smart enough to realize people don't want to watch this bullshit just to follow the plot of the movies.

So an entire episode dedicated to Simmons' time on the other planet? With seemingly NO other plot? SIGN ME UP! With a guest star list like that, I am thinkin Will Daniels will be someone she met on the planet. Every other plot on the show requires Guest Stars (May and Lance w/ Hydra, Kebo etc ATCU/Lash with Lash and Rosalind). I live for this kind of episode!

And last night's ep may not have been the BEST EPISODE EVER, but I still loved it.

Elizabeth who plays Simmons really really REALLY killed it doing PTSD/Space Sickness Simmons. Every line she spoke, the look in her eyes, the way she held herself. She was like a dog in those videos of animals being found in ditches and being so terrified of everything while also not wanting to draw any attention to themselves.

I feel like for some people, they don't understand that a lot of the stuff on this show ends up paying off. It seems like wheels may be spinning, but then the season finishes and you realize they did so much more than you first realize.

Even the first half of the first season. The entire Centipede plot makes SO much more sense after you know the Hydra reveal. You have Hydra from within SHIELD funding rogue bits of AIM along with Corporations like Cyber Tek which Hydra runs to keep some technology out of the hands of SHIELD. I mean, what's the point of super soldiers for Hydra, if they used SHIELD's resources and people to create them.

This show rocks is what I am trying to say.
