Cobie Smulders Confirms Another AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Appearance As 'Maria Hill'

Maria Hill has already made a couple of guest appearances on Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D so we figured it was only a matter of time before she'd show up again. Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the actress confirmed that we'd be seeing her again before the season 2 finale...

Though we don't know exactly when it'll be, in the below video Cobie Smulders reveals that we will see Maria Hill in an upcoming Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode. “There is one coming up,” the actress confirmed to Jimmy Kimmel. “I pop in every now and again to link the two worlds — the movies and the TV show — together.” Unless it's been kept very secret, we know Hill won't pop up in next week's instalment, "The Frenemy Of My Enemy", but it's a safe bet the tough-as-nails character will play a role in uniting the warring S.H.I.E.L.D. factions at some point before the season 2 finale.

@CaptainShipwreck: Exactly. Then all he's doing is comparing it to Daredevil on every damn AoS article. We get it bro, DD is a hit. Doesn't take away from what makes SHEILD great.

Didn't think I'd be one of those people, but I actually agree that this show is kinda hard to watch after watching Daredevil. I still think it's a good show, but I just want more.

This show will always be superior to Arrow and Flash for one reason:

It doesn't have a annoying love triangle and drama quota to fill. Sure it has some romance in it. But nothing nearly as annoying as Arrow which is clearly targeting teenage girls.

AOS is perfectly fine for a family show. I like that I can watch it with my 10 and 8 year old without having to tell them to cover their eyes (much), or without having to explain the plot. My 10 year old especially loves the complicated dynamics of Ward and the team. His reveal as a bad guy blew her mind.

DAREDEVIL is a great show to watch when the kids are asleep.

I'm grateful to have both types of shows to get my MCU fix between movies.

Some Marvel MOVIES are hard o watch after Daredevil, that;s not even necessarily a slight on them they're just aiming for different things. DD is by far the most character driven, fully developed narrative in the MCU so far. Doesn't take anything away from SHIELD which I think is still a top notch show in its own right.

Man, I like this show so much. Last night's episode was good and they're definitely building toward a huge finish. May is for real and it was very dark that May had to kill a child. Ming Na Wen got a chance to show some range with her acting with her pre calvary persona versus her current cold, calculating persona.

Agents of SHIELD is sometimes quite good and sometimes pretty bad. This season is markedly improved from last, but some moments or whole episodes are difficult to stomach.

That said, I still watch this every week while I've fallen off with Arrow and Flash. I just don't like all the early 20s, pretty faces, the forced (teenage) angst, and the romantic subplots. Flash gets a lot right, but its status as a CW show holds it back.

But I think we can all agree that Daredevil rocks.

Quoted for [frick]ing truth.

Not every DC/Marvel comicbook will satisfy a single audience; individuals like different things and thus can choose and pick their preferred heroes/series to follow. Why should it be any different for a cinematic universe?

This is my problem. Agents of SHIELD's 'SHIELD' still doesn't seem like the SHIELD presented in TWS. This last episode showed something of that, but most of the SHIELD agents we've seen in the show seem like the junior leagues in comparison. I guess that's because most are either analysts or desk officers, but even characters like Mockingbird seem far too "normal" for someone whose profession is espionage. And for some reason, the scripting on AOS doesn't rise to the level of the movies, particularly with Sif and other crossover characters. That said, I wonder what role she could play now that she's basically a glorified secretary for Stark.

@DerekLake: There's only three characters who can even qualify as junior league. Fitz, Simmions and Skye, which is understandable considering two were fresh out the Academy and the other was still a civilian one year ago. All three have come a long way since then. (especially Fitz&Jemma)

The only reason Skye still feels green is because right when she came into her own as an agent under May she was thrust into the world of Inhumans and has to retrain herself all over again in a way to control her ability. She's shown to be a very capable agent on her own just as recently as the episode One Door Closes.

@RynerLute I'm talking about how their 'SHIELD' acts on whole. From the composition of the original team to the way they conduct their operations in the present, compared to what we've seen of SHIELD, particularly in TWS, what we see in AOS seems amateurish at best. They hardly seem like a clandestine agency with special operations forces. Yes, I understand that most of the "team" isn't spec ops or spies even. But I would expect at least some degree of spec ops training would be required for field agents. Unless SHIELD is more like the FBI than the CIA. I was under the impression that they were the latter. Well, I'd like to see more of that anyway (and more espionage in general).

For me, I totally enjoyed Agent Carter, after a slow start, but I admit I was ready for AOS to come back. DD was on a whole 'nother level. I don't even consider it a tv series, more like a 13 hour feature film. Still, AOS is a good, solid show.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is one of the best shows on CBTV. In my honest opinion,

6. Arrow
5. Gotham
4. Agent Carter
3. Flash
2. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
1. Daredevil

I really like them all, except Arrow which I think it's awful.

RynerLute - 4/15/2015, 4:47 PM
@DerekLake: Except half the people you consider "real" SHIELD Agents in TWS were actually HYDRA lol. Regardless of this fact, the Team Widow and Cap headed up was strictly covert Ops, purely tactical. There name was STRIKE for crying out loud, if you think SHEILD only operates in one way, then you're more short sighted than I originally thought.

Coulson's Team expertise in a number of things, science being chief among them, espionage, investigation into the Alien and Special humans etc. Their job description reflects what their leader has done over his illustrious career with the Agency.

So this notion that SHIELD has to be all clad in black, ear piece, semi automatic wielding specialists is ignorant.

Between May, Bobbi, Hunter, Ward, Deathlok and even Mack, there's six specialists active in the show right now. Coulson and Skye ain't no slouches either. I don't see your point.

Just how many episodes are left in this season of AoS? The last preview made it seem that next week was the only one before Avengers but there's still another two weeks to go.
sikwon

@DerekLake.. Colson's team was formed for specific reasons.. 1 of which was for Colson to pull himself back together. They were also intended to be an investigative unit. That all came apart when the 1st got involved with Centipede and later when Shield fell apart. Step back and look at the team..
1. Colson- A high ranking agent recovering from a fatal attack.
2. May- A former combat specialist suffering from PTSD that requested a desk job who's real mission was to watch over Colson.
3. Ward- a combat specialist with a hidden agenda.
4. Skye- a young girl mistrust full 9 the government that finds herself in the middle of an enormous military machine.
5. FitzzSimmons- world class scientists that are just excited to be out of the acadamy.
That's basically the original team from season 1. Look at ware they are now and how they've developed. That team was never assembled to be spies or the last bastion of SHIELD. That's what they've had to become. They were never presented as a team of Black Widows.

AOS is probably the weakest CB show on tv right now. The first two seasons of Arrow, Flash, Agent Carter, DD, Gotham, and Walking Dead are all superior to AOS.

@doopie

I just got caught up and I have to agree. Sure, the show got better this season, but I mean maybe a 2/10 to a 3/10. And actually, this "real SHIELD" shit story is taking it back down a notch.

Meanwhile Daredevil is probably my favorite MCU anything since Iron Man 1.
