After a long wait, Marvel's Daredevil season 2 premieres tomorrow on Netflix and fans will be thrilled to finally see the Devil of Hell's Kitchen join forces with The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra (Élodie Yung) in a much deadlier and bloodier season. Showrunner Marco Ramirez recently spoke to TV.Com about bringing Marvel's other Netflix heroes onto the show and the upcoming crossover series The Defenders.
"Season 2 is already so populated with major characters," said Ramirez. "And [Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist] have their own aesthetic values. So crossing those, we never want it to feel like, 'Oh, it's jumping the shark. Now it's this weird crossover episode where this person from this other show is here.'" It's fair to say that a season already consistiing of The Hand, Punisher, and Elektra is more than enough to hold off fans until Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) decides to team up with the other three Defenders.
Earlier, it was confirmed that Game Of Thrones actor Finn Jones would be playing Danny Rand in the fourth Marvel Netflix series Marvel's Iron Fist. With this announcement, the full lineup of Marvel's The Defenders has been set in stone and once his series airs early next year, it'll be time to prepare for an epic mini-series featuring the four small-screen heroes.. Ramirez believes that before merging the four, it's ideal to keep the four shows as unique as possible. "We know ultimately they will come together in some magical way in The Defenders, So we're really careful in and how we do it... It's not always the stars of the show crossing and being in the same room."
Are you excited to finally see Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist come together?
