We recently learned that Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 will be the show's last. The news came as a huge blow to fans of the series, especially as the first two seasons received positive reviews; like Wonder Man, the issue may have ultimately been lower-than-expected viewership.
Reshoots are reportedly taking place to give the series a more satisfying send-off, though the hope is still that Daredevil will make his way to the big screen for a team-up with Spider-Man. Where that leaves the rest of the cast is hard to say.
As Karen Page, Deborah Ann Woll has made a huge impact both in Netflix's Daredevil and the Disney+ revival. Despite being Matt Murdock's main love interest, she's forged her own path and heads into Season 3 separated from the man she loves.
With the Man Without Fear behind bars, Karen's role in Daredevil: Born Again promises to be very interesting, especially after she helped take down Mayor Wilson Fisk. Talking to us today about her role in the new horror movie The Cycle, we asked Woll whether she was surprised about the cancellation and what her hopes are for Karen down the line.
"It wasn’t super surprising to me, no," she said, echoing recent comments from Charlie Cox. "I don’t know about hopes moving forward. I mean, obviously, in my mind, she’s a full person with a full life, and her life will continue. She’s going to continue to fight injustice, and whether they choose to include any of that is up to people far above my pay grade."
News of Daredevil: Born Again getting a Season 3 came shortly after Season 1 aired (Season 2 was already shooting by that point). When there was no mention of a fourth batch of episodes earlier this year, it began to feel like the writing might be on the wall for the show.
Woll has already reprised her role as Karen elsewhere in the MCU with a cameo in The Punisher: One Last Kill Special Presentation. Hopefully, Marvel Studios will find a place for her and the rest of Daredevil: Born Again's supporting players in the coming years.
In Shudder's The Cycle, when the body of a man missing for thirty-six years is discovered at the scene of a horrific crime, it’s up to his estranged daughter to unravel his dark past.
The horror movie is rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and will be released on Shudder on October 23. Make sure to SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube channel here to see the full interview with Deborah and her co-star Jeffrey Donovan before it hits ComicBookMovie.com.
