Vincent D'Onofrio Already Knows Kingpin's Next Marvel TV Appearance

Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio confirms that the NYC crime boss will return but he isn't giving out any details. Will he turn up next in Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders or Daredevil season 3?

Out promoting the Magnificent Seven at the Toronto International Film Festival,  Vincent D'Onofrio had nothing but compliments for Marvel Television, Netflix and Jeph Loeb in an interview with LRM.  Said D'Onfrio, "Marvel, the company, and especially Jeff Loeb, who runs Marvel Television, he's a clever dude. All those people over there are pretty clever and they love talent. There's no giant commitment for me at Daredevil. Like I didn't have to sign my life away at all. When Jeff tells me there's something coming up and if I'm available, I'll be there. And because it's written so well, I'm going to show up. I'm going to do everything I can because the writing is so good. And then there's a company like Netflix and they're not pressuring you either. They just want good material, good content. They give you money to make good content, so they're not pressuring actors to sign their life away either.... I think that there's this common ground where they say, 'Look, if the material is good are you going to show up?' and I said,  'Definitely'."

The follow up question by LRM was naturally about when Wilson Fisk will next be seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  "That I can't answer. I do know, but I can't answer... so take that how you will. Jeff and Charlie (Cox) and Netflix love Kingpin, and so, Kingpin is good for Marvel's television stuff and I think they agree."

Confronted and arrested in Daredevil season one, the show's sophomore season revealed Fisk as an inmate of Ryker's Island.  However, he was already in the midst of rebuilding his criminal empire, having already taken complete control of the prison as evidenced by his orchestration of Frank Castle's escape.  It's assumed that Fisk was given a pretty lengthy sentence given his numerous crimes so whether he ever escapes Ryker's or continues to influence events from behind bars is anyone's guess.

Kingpin is a Marvel Comics character created by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr. who first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #50 (1967).  Initially a primary antagonist of the Wall-Crawler, Wilson Fisk would later become a primary villain for Daredevil and a recurring antagonist of Punisher.  Kingpin was first played by the late Michael Clarke Duncan in 2003's Daredevil film before Vincent D'Onfrio debuted as the character in the 2015 Netflix series.   John Rhys-Davies also portrayed the character in the 1989 TV movie The Trial of the Incredible Hulk.

Though he possesses immense size and strength, Kingpin prefers to influence events from afar, seldom getting his hands dirty.  He prefers to deploy various henchman on his pay role, including Bullseye, Elektra, Lady Bullseye and Hobgoblin among others.

NETFLIX SERIES DESCRIPTION:  Blinded as a young boy, Matt Murdock fights injustice by day as a lawyer and by night as the Super Hero Daredevil in Hells Kitchen, New York City.  Starring Charlie CoxDeborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson.
