VisionQuest premieres on Disney+ tonight with two episodes and concludes on November 10. Post-credits scenes have become a staple of MCU storytelling, and with Avengers: Doomsday up next for Marvel Studios, we're sure you're eager to know whether the series sets it up in any way.
Well, we can't talk about that just yet. You can, however, look forward to weekly recaps and spoiler breakdowns for a series that has plenty of talking points.
Does VisionQuest have any post-credits scenes, though? Well, without getting into spoilers for the show, we can tell you, yes, VisionQuest has one mid-credits scene in the finale.
That's it, meaning there's nothing additional to wait for in the first seven chapters beyond some extremely well-designed closing credits.
VisionQuest has some big cliffhangers and significant surprises, and it will soon become clear why we're getting two episodes a week up until 7 and 8, which are set to be released one week apart. The series is a great weekly watch, and it's good to see Marvel Studios has decided against releasing all instalments at once, an approach that took the wind out of the sails of shows like Echo and Wonder Man.
As for Vision's MCU future, that remains to be seen after VisionQuest wraps up. As far as we know, the series is meant to be a one-and-done, not unlike WandaVision and Agatha All Along, so a Season 2 isn't necessarily the plan for this Synthezoid.
In our review, we concluded, "Paul Bettany and James Spader are masterful in VisionQuest, a staggering achievement by Marvel Studios and Terry Matalas that understands its characters, does right by them, and delivers one of the best MCU stories ever told."
In VisionQuest, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponise him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron.
His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision's son, reincarnated. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron's influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.
VisionQuest stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T'Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, with Emily Hampshire and James D'Arcy.
The series premieres on Disney+ on October 14.
