Last October, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett star Rosario Dawson shared a post on Instagram welcoming Hayden Christensen back to the Star Wars franchise. This came shortly after the trades broke the news that he would reprise his prequels role in both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, but the actor soon took the post down, which many fans took as confirmation, anyway.

"I just posted, 'Skyguy...They know!!! See you soon, Snips,'" Dawson recalls. "I looked in my email, and Star Wars was like, 'You might want to take that down. 'I’m like, 'Man, I can’t be trusted.'"

So, she jumped the gun and Lucasfilm still won't confirm reports that Christensen will be part of Ahsoka. With that show set to take place post-Return of the Jedi, it means we're either getting flashbacks or that the actor will finally get the opportunity to return as a Force Ghost following his return to the Light side of the Force after being saved by his son, Luke Skywalker, in Episode VI.

Showrunner Dave Filoni (who created Ahsoka with George Lucas) dropped a few hints about the show in general, though, explaining that "Ahsoka is a continuous story." He adds, "It is definitely driving toward a goal, in my mind, as opposed to being little singular adventures. That’s what I want the character to be doing, and I think that’s what fans want now. They have such a relationship with her. I’ve only recently started to understand that all those kids that watched Clone Wars are now a lot older - they’re very excited about all the things they grew up with, as they should be."

The belief is that the show will follow Ahsoka Tano as she embarks on a mission to find Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger following their disappearance at the end of Star Wars Rebels. Sabine Wren will also be part of proceedings, and there's a whole lot of excitement surrounding the series.

Star Wars Celebration is probably too soon for a first look, but Ahsoka is set to premiere in 2023.

I really hope we'll get to see Hayden as a force ghost of Anakin. Don't necessarily need him in a flashback, especially if we're also getting Clone Wars flashback with him and Kenobi.

Also, Filoni's got it right. The Clone Wars is the Star Wars I watched when I was young (not just the show, but the whole era including the prequels). Getting to see those stories continue now sure is great. Goes for both the Ahsoka and Kenobi shows

If they’re doing flashbacks to the clone wars, it’s time they show us that business on Cato Neimoidia

@JFerguson - I think that reference now alludes to the new Star Wars:Brotherhood book that just came out. It is really good!! Highly recommend!

Oh man a few force ghost scenes, plus a cheeky Clone Wars flashback scene or two with a de-aged Hayden and young Ahsoka voiced by Ashley Eckstein…. That would just be incredible.
