Star Wars Celebration is fast approaching, and fans of this Galaxy Far, Far Away are already counting down the minutes to what promises to be a weekend of huge announcements and reveals.

A little while ago, we heard about a Lucasfilm project titled Tales of the Jedi, and while no one seems certain about exactly what that is, answers could be coming soon. According to Making Star Wars, a panel showcasing this mystery project has been set for Friday, May 27, though there's still no word on whether it's going to be live-action or animated (we'd bet on the latter based on recent rumours).

The site mentions that Jedi: Fallen Order lead Cal Kestis is likely one of the characters involved, with the prevailing theory being that this project is closely tied to the hit video game franchise. However, that's not set in stone, and it sounds like another possibility is that it will be loosely based on the Dark Horse comic book series, Legends Old Republic: Tales of the Jedi.

Either way, common sense says this is going to be an anthology of some sort telling more stories about those who have called themselves Jedi Knights over the millennia.

It's worth pointing out that actor Cameron Monaghan is pretty much identical to Cal Kestis because his likeness was used in the game. Recently, he appeared "in character" in Disneyland when Kestis' lightsaber was made available to purchase, so his popularity would surely be enough to create excitement around an animated spinoff series or live-action debut for the hero.

I think these shows are great, but it’s also pretty sad that Star Wars may only ever be confined to them.

Don't ruin Kal, keep him in the games and let him have his story and don't try to F*** it up in live action.

I really doubt they'll make him the protagonist in a non-videogame story for now. I could see him show up in a supporting role though, which I kinda hope will be the case in Kenobi
