Moff Gideon is clearly being set up to be a major player in the Star Wars Universe thanks to The Mandalorian, and while he's only played a minor role in season two so far, it sounds like he'll be sticking around for the long haul. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Giancarlo Esposito was asked if fans can expect to see more of him in the Disney+ series moving forward.

"It seems that way," the actor teased before dropping some hints about what's in store for the villain. "But I have a feeling you'll see more of me next season. More than likely you're going to see a lot of Moff Gideon. I can't be sure of that, but it seems as though this iconic journey that they want you to feel it. I think you're going to start to see other storylines start to creep in."

"When we start to realize there's such a deep connection [between the show's storylines and] the rest of the galaxy and what's really happening. Maybe you'll get an inkling of what he wants."

In the same interview, Esposito was asked to share his thoughts on The Child's recently revealed egg eating habits, something which has generated a lot of backlash (really) online since "Chapter 9" aired.

"Baby Yoda is a very pure spirit, and yet 50 years old, so he's someone who's very highly intelligent, but also has to survive," Esposito said. "And we need to keep that baby happy. We've all fallen in love with The Child and The Child has some compassion and is funny and is absolutely the cutest thing you've ever seen."

Well, if even the Moff is on board with what Baby Yoda gets up to, surely we can too, right?

Now he's done stealing Frog Lady's eggs, The Child has turned his attentions to cookies. When his classmate on Nevarro refuses to share his treat, the adorable creature uses his Force powers to take them, and that leads to one of the show's funniest moments to date later in the episode.

Nevarro has changed a lot since we last visited the planet, and that's thanks to Greef Karga and Cara Dune. Earlier in the episode, we saw her taking down some thieves, though the creature she saves definitely didn't have the ability to breathe fire; clearly something changed during shooting!

The Imperial base is another of Moff Gideon's projects, though we caught a glimpse of some deformed clones there (one of whom looked an awful lot like Supreme Leader Snoke). The Child's "M-Count" appears to be vital to this process, and that's obviously a reference to Midi-chlorians.

As Din Djarin jetted back to make sure The Child was safe, Cara Dune and Greef Karga (alongside the Mythrol) made their way back to town...with the Empire on their tale! It was one of the show's best action sequences to date, and proved that Carl Weathers is a great fit for the Star Wars franchise.

"The Siege" ended with a visit aboard Moff Gideon's ship, though it wasn't a traditional Star Destroyer! Instead, the villain appears to be in charge of an Arquitens class ship. Those are most commonly associated with The Clone Wars, and while they were once used primarily by the Jedi, the Empire later made use of Arquitens-class command cruisers, so that's likely what we see here.

@Goldboink - he is indeed really good, but what about Darth Maul, Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress, General Grievous... I do agree he is better than the villains in the sequel trilogy, but the prequels have good ones

@PantherKing - I think in another interview he also already talked about season 4, so he really is staying for the long haul

DC/WB are missing a big opportunity in casting him as an Arkham rogue or JL villain. My choice was always Black Mask.

Why are we still trying to make "Egg-Gate" a thing? NO ONE CARES.

Regardless, Moff Gideon is incredible, but that's to be expected when you hire Giancarlo Esposito.

It shouldn't have been as deep as people made it out to be in regards to being a "scandal".

I'm fully expecting him to stay another season on. He didn't have a lot of build-up, so if we don't see him return after this season it could turn very dissatisfying.

I'm kinda thinking of the Fire Lord in Avatar here. Would sorta the same situation if they already fought and got rid of him in Season 2. Hopefully Gideon will get a much bigger role in later season(s) too.
