During Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm announced that The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere on Disney+ next February. We'd been keeping our fingers crossed that it might be here in time for the Holidays, but with The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor all released on the streaming service in 2022, we shouldn't be surprised that the series is being saved for a 2023 debut.
A teaser trailer was shown at the event, though it's yet to be officially released. Common sense says it's being saved for this September's Disney+ Day, but another bootleg copy has started doing the rounds online (as first reported by SFFGazette.com).
We won't be sharing it here, though it can be easily found on Twitter, Reddit, and YouTube.
In the sneak peek, we see more of Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan Kryze and her fellow Mandalorians, with a first proper look at Mandalore serving as a money shot of sorts.
There was also a Star Destroyer - we're expecting the show to reveal more about how the Empire became The First Order - and a couple of creatures who are clearly the same species as The Rise of Skywalker's Babu Frik. Paz Vizsla and The Armorer also get to see some action, while there's a fair bit of expected Grogu cuteness to be found as well.
However, perhaps the most welcome sight is Din Djarin heading into action in his retrofitted Naboo Starfighter. It looks like we're getting some proper space battles, something this new ship definitely lends itself to.
While The Mandalorian is currently in post-production, this footage looks incredible, and waiting until next February isn't going to be easy for Star Wars fans. Reshoots are currently taking place, though we don't anticipate seeing any set photos given the show's secretive nature.
The Mandalorian is set to return to Disney+ in February 2023. Keep checking SFFGazette.com for all the latest updates.
