THE MANDALORIAN Star Mercedes Moné Talks Possible Season 3 Appearance As Koska Reeves And Her Big Screen Hopes

When Mercedes Moné (known as Sasha Banks in WWE) was first spotted in one of the trailers for The Mandalorian's second season, speculation immediately started running rampant that she might be playing Star Wars Rebels' Sabine Wren.

We'd soon learn that wasn't the case, of course, with the pro wrestler and actress instead playing the newly created Mandalorian Koska Reeves. The character was a hit with Star Wars fans despite her fairly limited role in the Disney+ series, though Moné insists she won't be part of season 3.

"I can’t believe I’m in two of the greatest universes ever. Wrestling universe and Star Wars universe have the craziest and best fans of all-time," the New Japan Pro Wrestling star tells TV Insider (via SFFGazette.com).

"To have no one, but six Star Wars of myself and was only in one season thus far. I don’t know. It’s still surreal. The next season I can’t wait to watch as a fan."

We're not buying what Moné is selling, especially with The Mandalorian's upcoming third season set to feature a record number of Mandos! Chances are she's been told to keep her return under wraps, especially given the secretive nature of this corner of the Star Wars Galaxy.

Despite denying her involvement with The Mandalorian, Moné did say she's game to return as the hero in a movie. "Besides freakin’ Star Wars, I would love to be in a movie," she says. "I would love to put Koska Reeves in a Mandalorian movie. That would be incredible."

We'll see what the future holds in store for Moné and Reeves, though we do anticipate her showing up in the show when it returns. If now, we'd at least like to think there's a good explanation for why she isn't jetting into action alongside Katee Sackhoff's returning Bo-Katan Kryze.

The Mandalorian premieres on Disney+ on March 1.

''To have no one, but six Star Wars of myself''

I have no idea what she means with this. Six Star Wars what of herself? Figurines?

Does her acting name change with her current in ring name with whatever promotion she's currently in? I expect her to do the Dwayne Johnson thing and go by her birth name of Mercedes Vernado. I don't watch NJPW so I'm not calling her Mone. She's Sasha to me. And you can Bank on that.

Unrelated, but she is really missing out being in NJPW, the WWE is fire right now under Triple H. He would book her story lines and rivals top tier. I understand raising your value as a credible technical wrestler spending time in promotions outside of the US then coming back with that mystique, but she should be elevating the already phenomenal women's division. WWE needs way more women's titles and attention because they have tons of talent, but not like a Sasha Banks. The Boss is next level.

@TheVandalore - I'm sure WWE owns "Sasha Banks" so she's just using her current ring name as her acting named too.

@GreedoSarducci - did she make her first Star Wars appearances back then as Sasha Banks? I never took notice and assumed she used her real name of Mercedes Vernado.

@TheVandalore - I think she appeared as Banks but I'm not 100% certain.

OT: After interference from the Bloodline, Sami Zayn is gonna be the one to cost Roman Reigns his titles against Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania. Which will set up the rematch at the next PLE with no Bloodline and no Sami, Roman vs Rhodes 2 where Cody beats Roman clean and Roman retires like he's been talking about. Or goes on part time roster or cameo visits like Cena. Or takes a year or 2 off to do other things and let Cody have his run, then comes back a few years later.

But I fully believe Sami will get his revenge on Roman at Wrestlemania, and this Sami-Bloodline story comes to a close at Wrestlemania when he cost Roman his titles.

Cody won't be happy he didn't win clean though, and will want a rematch with Roman more than Roman will.

@TheVandalore - pretty good summation. This Bloodline thing has to come to an end at WrestleMania.

She'll have plenty of time in between her indie matches in NJPW and such. I'm sure she'll be back for Mando
