In what's being hailed as a "first-of-its-kind partnership" between Rockstar Games and Netflix, an extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI will debut on the streamer on August 27 at 3 pm ET.
It's not clear what led to this deal beyond what was likely a significant financial incentive. However, as we first revealed on GameFragger.com, a press release notes that Grand Theft Auto V was released the same year Netflix started "its push into original programming." It adds, "This collaboration represents the next generation of storytelling and content on Netflix."
In other words, it seems Netflix could become a home for future trailer debuts/extended sneak peeks, giving YouTube some serious competition (and perhaps prompting rival streamers to try doing the same thing).
Back to Grand Theft Auto VI, and we also have a new look at the game's leads, Jason and Lucia. They're clearly preparing to rob a bank, a staple of the franchise that will likely be a big part of this next instalment.
