It has been revealed today that Legendary Pictures are financing and producing a movie based on the video game, Dead Rising. Crackle will distribute the film, while Content Media will sell the international rights. Tim Carter has been tapped to pen the screenplay, while Transformers' Lorenzo di Bonaventura is set to exectutive produce. Carter will also produce the movie alongside Tomas Harlan, and their company, Contradiction Films, actually produced Mortal Kombat: Legacy, another video game adaptation. Dead Rising is described as being set during a zombie outbreak, as four characters must outrun the disease's spread and search for its origins. "We are excited to be working with Legendary and Lorenzo, who have both created immersive properties for fans around the world," Carter and Harlan said in a statement. "As avid players of the game, we're extremely thrilled to take the popular franchise that millions have embraced and give them the opportunity to experience it on a new platform." What do you think?
