Starwars the Old Republic has a special place in my heart after following the series since Knight of the Old Republic and multiple BioWare games, among the fact I was an avid Star Wars Galaxies player.
Now despite my love for the game, issues are held strong with the customization options, or lack thereof. Much needed improvements are needed for players to feel the want to roll a new character or even start playing the game for the first time.
Earlier in the year during a Q&A on the official forums, we had been given a confirmation on new playable species coming up later in the year, I guess around patch 1.4 ( we're currently at 1.2 )
Here is a list of species i'd like to see and how I think they have the potential to end up in a playable state for players.
Most of my species are mainly chosen for their human shape and build causing no restrictions to animations and having the introduction of the species easy to get in to the game as playable without a ton of hassle.
Rodian
Did Greedo shoot first? No, but we'd like the chance to shoot first as this fiery little species that has a lot of love throughout the Star Wars fan base.
Nautolan
One of the coolest species i've ever come to find in Star Wars when I was first introduced to Kitt Fisto, playing as this species would fill the gap left from all SW games with lack of playable Nautolans!
Mon Calamari
It's a trap! Now get in to my playable species options, Admiral.
Kel Dor
Another "cool" choice of race option, Kel Dor were one of the highest chosen species choice for players in Star Wars: Jedi Academy, myself included. Seeing customization on such a species has me intrigued.
Gand
A companion character species already established in the game, i'm not overly enthusiastic about seeing such a species in game, but again, customization on such a limited species is something to look forward to seeing.
Torguta
Not much needed to say about the species, seen a lot in The Old Republic and much wanted for a playable option, we all love Ashara Zavros.
Sullustan
This one is a personal choice as the species was my first and last Galaxies character, alongside my friend we had a gang of Sullustans with a story relating them, the best of times, I would love to see these make a come back.
Droids
Any and all droids, a huge library of custom built droids would be absolutely perfect.
Most of my choices reflect on already established species in The Old Republic, I would much prefer something new and excited like new body types and animations for a bit of excitement, but I feel that won't be there case.
As long as I see Droids, Sullustans and Torguta, i'll be happy.
