DEADPOOL Actor Ryan Reynolds Has Had Loose Discussions To Star In RAINBOW SIX
With a Jack Ryan series set for Amazon TV, Paramount is looking to get another Tom Clancy franchise made, which will come in the form of a Rainbow Six movie possibly starring Ryan Reynolds.
Akiva Goldsman, who has been heavily involved with the Transformers movies, has signed an exclusive first look deal with Paramount. As part of the deal, Goldsman has free reign to develop a couple of different properties in hopes of turning them into franchises. One of those possible franchises is Rainbow Six, based off the best-selling Tom Clancy novel series and video games of the same name.
Buried in the report by Deadline, is that the studio may already have someone in mind to play the main character for the Rainbow Six series, John Clark. Paramount has had "loose discussions" with Deadpool actor, Ryan Reynolds, to star in the Rainbow Six franchise. Goldsman would serve as a producer on the film, which if successful, would open the door for the Clark origin tale Without Remorse to be the next film in line.
The John Clark character has been a part of the Jack Ryan films before with Willem Dafoe and Liev Schreiber playing him in Clear and Present Danger and The Sum Of All Fears, respectively. There is no mention whether or not the film version of John Clark would show up in the new Jack Ryan show, starring The Office's John Krasinski, that will debut on Amazon TV.
