Sony's upcoming action movie Bullet Train has reportedly added yet another big name to its increasingly star-studded ensemble cast. According to Collider, Lady Gaga has now boarded the project.
Deadpool 2 director David Leitch's high-concept thriller has already enlisted Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Zazie Beetz and Michael Shannon. It's not known if Gaga will be playing one of the hired killers at the centre of the story, but her part is believed to be "a smaller supporting role rather than a lead."
Based on Japanese novel Maria Beetle by best-selling author Kotaro Isaka, Bullet Train follows "five assassins on a fast-moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with only a few stops in between. They discover their missions are linked to one another. The question becomes, who will make it off the train alive and what awaits them at the terminal station?"
The movie will be produced by Kelly McCormick through 87North, along with Antoine Fuqua. Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma Terada of CTB Inc will exec produce. The script was penned by Zak Olkewicz (The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Fear Street 2).
Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, has previously appeared in the likes of American Horror Story, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and Machete Kills. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her first lead performance in A Star Is Born, and won for Best Original Song.
Gaga is also attached to star in Ridley Scott's Gucci as Patrizia Reggiani, but Bullet Train is expected to shoot first.
