There used to be a standing theory that when a comic book movie was made, it had to be geared towards the younger crowd in order for it to have a chance at being successful. Well that theory was blown out of the water with the 2016 release of
Deadpool, which was both a huge commercial success, and a delightfully vulgar and violent hard-R superhero film. Also cashing in on that success was
Logan, Wolverine’s swan song. That movie was also both a very hard-R, and very successful in the box office.
Looking to join in on the ruckus is a UK comic book adaptation from the creator of
Judge Dredd, Accident Man. Check out the trailer below.
Accident Man is based off a 1991 UK-based comic series called
Toxic, and was written by Pat Mills and Tony Skinner. The film stars Scott Adkins (
Doctor Strange,
The Expendables 2), who plays titular Accident Man Mike Fallon, a brash hitman who specializes in making his victims’ deaths look like
accidents. However, Fallon becomes humbled by tragedy after his girlfriend Beth is killed, and he subsequently goes on a quest for vengeance.
Here is the official synopsis:
