If you've never seen John Carpenter's Big Trouble In Little China (1986) it's well worth checking out. It's a fairly bonkers mix of fantasy, horror, comedy and adventure, and remains a true original after all these years. Now we have word that a remake is in the works at 20th Century Fox, and it looks like Dwayne Johnson will take on the role of Jack Burton (Kurt Russell in the original), "an All-American trucker who gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in San Francisco’s Chinatown."
The script will be written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class, Thor, the upcoming Power Rangers reboot) and Johnson will produce along with his partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.
What do you guys think of this news? Is a remake a good idea? Sound off in the usual place.
